Scaling a product-led SaaS business with an embedded onsite talent partner

The Challenge

Fresh from securing £13 million in Series A funding, Goodfit had reached a pivotal stage in their growth journey and needed to scale their Product and Engineering functions quickly, without compromising on quality, culture, or long-term vision.

As a relatively new name in the market, attracting senior technical talent was a key focus for business growth, and we were brought on to support as their dedicated talent function to manage the increasing hiring demand.

Having previously worked closely with CTO Al James during his time building Ometria, we had a preexisting trusted relationship with the leadership team. Goodfit needed a hiring partner that understood the technology market, could move quickly, and could act as an extension of the business rather than an external agency.

The Solution

After discussing several options, including reduced contingent pricing, monthly placement models, and fixed-cost hiring solutions, we landed on a flexible on-site hiring model, tailored to Goodfit’s growth stage and hiring needs.

Principal Consultant, Grace Duffy was embedded onsite twice weekly, adjusting depending on hiring demand and role complexity. She became a genuine extension of the internal team, attending office openings, collaborating directly with hiring managers, and supporting the wider candidate experience from start to end.

The partnership combined the benefits of an embedded talent function with the reach and network of a specialist technology recruitment business.

  • Weekly hiring manager video calls to review feedback, process improvements, and priorities
  • Profiles managed through Workable to ensure streamlined collaboratio

The Results

We delivered 11 hires across Product, Engineering & Design.

The partnership began with four strategic senior hires before transitioning into the embedded subscription model, where a further seven hires were delivered in approximately 3 months:

1 Engineering Manager
