Principal Tech Team Lead (Front End) - We have been engaged by a rapidly scaling Agentic AI-driven SaaS business to hire a Principal Tech Team Lead (Front End) to help shape the next phase of its engineering growth.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this is a high-impact leadership role combining technical strategy, people leadership and hands-on engineering within a modern product-led environment. The company is entering a major growth phase following a very impressive Series B round, launching new products and scaling its engineering organisation significantly over the next 12-24 months.

You will lead a growing front end function, managing 3 Front End Tech Team Leads while driving architectural consistency, engineering standards and technical direction across multiple squads. Working in cross-functional squads, there are currently 10-12 Front End Engineers and this is planned to grow to ~20 Front End Engineers and 2 more Tech Team Leads in the next year.

This role would suit someone who enjoys operating at scale, influencing engineering strategy, mentoring technical leaders, and still spending meaningful time in a hands-on capacity.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in shaping front end architecture and engineering culture across a fast-growing SaaS business. The environment is highly collaborative, autonomous and experimentation-led, with strong investment in AI tooling and developer productivity.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Lead and mentor Front End Tech Team Leads across multiple cross-functional squads
• Define front end architecture and engineering standards
• Influence technical decisions for major new product launches
• Drive consistency across the platform, tooling and developer experience
• Help scale engineering structures, processes, and ways of working
• Hands-on technical contributions to proof-of-concepts, spikes and technical initiatives
• Shape how AI tooling is adopted across engineering teams
• Build and develop high-performing front end engineers and future leaders

Tech Stack: React, TypeScript, Python, Django, REST, AWS, Postgres

Environment: Modern front end architecture, cross-functional product squads, AI-assisted engineering workflows and tooling, scalable SaaS platform environment
