Engineering Manager - CTO Progression for a Market Disrupting Incubated Start-Up

Greenfield Marketplace/Data Platform Transforming an Entire Sector

Up to £100,000 per annum plus bonus and amazing benefits

Are you an Engineering Manager with a passion for innovation and building amazing, world-leading products that will change the way an entire sector operates?

As an Engineering Manager, do you have the ambition to become a CTO, owning the technical strategy of an incubated start- up backed by some of the leading companies in the tech world?

If so, read on as this is the career-defining role for you…

Engineering Manager - A leading financial services company is looking for an Engineering Manager with ambitions to be a CTO, to join an incubated start-up to build a brand new marketplace in a sector that is ripe for disruption. The Greenfield platform will eventually provide market-wide access to an AI/ML-powered Data Platform which will dramatically speed up the working practices of an entire sector, taking minutes to do what currently takes days. You will work in a start-up environment directly in the CEOs office, with the financial backing of a hugely successful major plc and the advisory support of a 'Who's Who' in the tech world.

As Engineering Manager you will be responsible for completing the initial MVP being built by one of the world's leading tech companies, scaling the product across a couple of business lines and then, in the mid-term, going out to the wider market.

Tech Stack: Python, Javascript, AWS, Serverless… but ultimately you decide!!

What will you do as Engineering Manager?

  • You will own the architecture and the technical strategy.
  • You will hire the team across Front End, Back End, Data and Platform Engineering.
  • You will drive the right processes and best practice within the team to ensure that the technology is scalable, reliable, secure and performant.
  • You will still be technically 'hands-on', able to guide the team in product engineering and building quality products, whilst retaining the ability to code IF required.

What will you need as Engineering Manager?

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a dynamic, product engineering environment where innovation is encouraged and teams strive for excellence.
  • You will have led Engineering teams, growing products and delivering quality in a timely manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of a variety of technology across the stack including Front End, Back End, Data and Platform. You won't be expected to be an expert in all areas but must have a good appreciation of what good looks like across the stack.

What will you get as Engineering Manager?

  • The opportunity to join a very well-funded, incubated start-up to build an amazingly exciting product that WILL change the way an entire sector operates.
  • Clear growth from Engineering Manager to CTO as you build the team you want and the product the market is waiting for.
  • Fantastic support from an internal team with recent experience of successfully bringing new, market-disrupting products to market as well as external support from some of the best companies and individuals in the world.

This is a career-defining opportunity for an Engineering Manager to set themselves on the path to being a CTO with a 'start-up' backed with huge capital and amazing advisors. Please reply with your CV or call Simon Evans for a chat.
