Senior .Net Developer - Manchester FinTech
Job Role: Senior .Net Developer
Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 + benefits including bonus
Location: Manchester City Centre
You have probably walked past this company's office in Manchester city centre many times and not realised what is going on behind closed doors.
This (traditionally) London based FinTech is making waves in Manchester and looking for another like-minded Senior Developer to join their stellar team.
I actually spoke to someone last night about this company and his words were "my mate works there, he says it's great and just not what you would assume" - He said it without my prompt too!
Why do they "just not what you would assume"?
The managers don't typically come from financial services backgrounds, so there isn't the old "banks do it like this so let's continue that" attitude. Instead you're working as a tech-centric business to build solutions to financial services problems in ways that banks won't even think of.
You'll be led by technologists who believe in producing good, clean code and working to the best practices. You'll need to be up to scratch on your SOLID Principles because the first stage of the interview process is a bit of a grilling on them.
You'll be working on new financial management systems for some of the largest banks in the world. That is a pretty impressive accolade to have!
The culture of the business is very "tech" rather than "bank" as you are encouraged to collaborate with your team and find new solutions to keep at the forefront.
You will have support from other members of the team to help you climb the ladder from a leadership side.
Saying that, you will need the following skills / experience to be eligible for the role:
- At least 3 years experience in a commercial .Net Developer role
- Strong experience working to TDD / SOLID principles
- Great communication skills - it is still quite a small team so you can't hide away all the time
