About the Company:

We're currently partnered with an innovative start-up disrupting the insurance industry by providing a better solution that ensures customers don't overpay and know exactly what cover they're paying for.

They're seed funded and scaling across the business. They're looking to hire 2 Senior backend weighted Software Engineers with the flexibility to work across Europe on a fully remote basis. In the mid-term they will build a hub out of Amsterdam, so this may suit those in the area.

About the Role:

This specific role requires some good awareness of how the payment lifecycle works. Expect lots of integrations, data format adjustments and contributing to their in-house middleware (to be built from scratch this year).

Responsibilities:

• Scope and take the lead on large technical projects for greenfield projects to evolve and scale
• Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems across the company - both, to offer products and to gain access to partners offerings
• Develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps by making practical tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation and collaborate with stakeholder across the organisation
• Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebase across the company
• Support and mentor team members to provide guidance and code-reviews

Requirements

• Experience owning the end to end software development lifecycle. They want Seniors who are pragmatic, understand engineering best practices but also want autonomy and can work independently
• .NET6 (MVP) migrating to .NET8, Entity Framework Core (EFC), REST/HTTP based APIs, Azure with Github Actions

Bonus Experience

• Strong PostgreSQL experience - for performance optimisation
• Experience with domains such as online marketplace, payments integration, subscription services and related fields
• Knowledge of SOLID and common architectural patterns
• Experience with a startup or technical product environment
