Head of Cloud Operations / Manchester / up to £100,000
This role can function mostly from home, but as a rule please consider whether you could work from a Manchester office 1-2 times per month.
Let's cut to the chase. We are working with a business based in central Manchester to help them find a new Head of Cloud Operations. Why would you consider working for them over another dozen companies looking for talent in this market?
- Private equity backed firm with major expansion plans - they had completely uninterrupted growth during 2020, including the first lockdown, which has continued throughout this year.
- They were working remotely prior to March 2020 and they trust their people enough to let this continue.
- Opportunity to grow out your own team - you'll inherit a group of four engineers and be given budget to expand this immediately.
- Exciting technological challenges await - the business is on a major drive towards automation and the adoption of modern technologies, such as AKS.
We are looking for a confident and capable leader with the ambition to take on a role offering plenty of autonomy. You'll have a direct line into the CEO and he wants to be pushed; present him with a big idea and he'll ask how he can turn it into reality. You will ideally have an active interest in new technologies, and be keen to work in an environment where DevOps is a culture, not a job title.
What you'll need to bring from a tech perspective:
- In depth understanding of Azure infrastructure.
- Experience with monitoring/alert stacks.
- An appreciation of how infrastructure meshes with the SDLC - they're a .NET house and some understanding of APIs, Azure DevOps, etc, would be highly beneficial.
- Solid grounding in networking concepts, load balancers, security.
