Director of Platform Engineering - We are working with an innovative FinTech with over $150m in funding to find them a Director of Platform Engineering as they continue to scale their team and their excellent SaaS products used by thousands of businesses across Europe. As Director of Platform Engineering you will report into the CTO and be responsible for the platform strategy that will support a wider engineering function growing from around 60 to 150 in the next 12 months. They are already on the journey of breaking down a monolith into microservices and now they need to evolve this strategy as they rapidly scale.

The Platform Engineering team is currently 8 strong with plans to grow this to 30 by the end of 2022 covering a variety of disciplines including SRE, Developer Experience/Tooling, Data and Automation. You will build and structure the team how you see fit, including hiring Engineering Managers, to ensure that the strategy can be executed and the platform ecosystem is fit for purpose for a fast-growing, ambitious business.

Tech Stack: Node, Typescript, React and Python (Data), AWS.

What will the Director of Platform Engineering do?

• You will evolve and execute the platform strategy ensuring services can be created and released quickly and that they can scale independently so customers and engineers receive an excellent experience.
• Hire Engineering Managers and Engineers in a cross-functional organisation while fostering a strong engineering culture of collaboration.
• Work closely with the Product and Engineering leadership to offer technical perspective on the Product roadmap and influence strategic decisions.
