I am working with a pioneering healthcare technology company who leverage artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
They are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, maintain, and scale their data
platform, which supports both the product and machine learning teams.
The role...
In a nutshell, you will focus on building scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure to support real-time operations and data-driven products.
What you'll be doing...
- You will design and maintain the Data Platform: Architecting, implementing, and managing a scalable data platform that serves both the product team and machine learning team.
- You will build and manage a robust relational database system that supports efficient storage, retrieval, and structuring of large-scale datasets.
- You will develop and maintain backend systems, ensuring that they are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the platform's growing demands.
- You will collaborate with the machine learning team to design data stores optimized for feature extraction and data processing, ensuring seamless access to data.
- You will utilise AWS services to ensure cloud scalability, data storage, and compute optimization.
What they are looking for...
- Experience designing and managing large-scale data platforms.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including performance tuning, indexing, and replication.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) for handling unstructured data and scaling database operations.
- AWS knowledge
- Strong understanding of data architectures, ETL pipelines, and database design principles.
- Experienced with Python & python libraries such as Pandas or Spark for processing and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience with backend development frameworks for building RESTful APIs such as Django, and FastAPI.
