Senior Data Engineer

  • £70,000-£85,000
  • One day every other week for full team sprints, most of the team do 2 days a week on site (central Manchester close to St Peters Square & Oxford Road station)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holiday (you can carry 5 days over)

We are currently partnered with a highly successful Manchester based SaaS business who have recently received over 4 million in funding to help them continue their upward trajectory. This is the chance to be number one. This is a company first and will be the chance to work with Version 3 of Microsoft Fabric.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work closely with the development team, legacy data administrator and the support engineers to help the business get the most out of their data. You will be expected to be the subject matter expert of all things to do with modern Azure tooling's.

What you'll be doing...

  • Developing high quality code for the core data stack including the data integration hub, data warehouse and data pipelines.
  • Building data flows for data acquisition, aggregation, and modelling.
  • Supporting and optimising data tools and associated cloud environments for consumption by downstream systems, data analysts and data scientists.
  • Empowering data scientists and data analysts to be as self-sufficient as possible by building core systems and developing reusable library code.

What they are looking for...

  • You are highly skilled with Azure Data Stack, with particular expertise with Databricks.
  • You have strong experience with Python, Spark & SQL.
  • Outstanding communication skills and proven ability to manage internal stakeholders.

Tech stack: Azure, Databricks, Python, Spark, Pyspark, SQL, Azure

This will be a two-stage interview process, candidates will work hybrid with an expectation to come to the office three days a week in Manchester. Candidates will also require full right to work in the UK.
