I am working with rapidly scaling b2b SaaS company, backed by private equity, who are looking for a Principal Data Engineer with a passion for designing and building high-quality data pipelines to power cutting-edge genAI products.

 

What you'll be doing...

Supported by a dynamic data team consisting of other data engineers, data scientists, and ML and analytics engineers, you will be engaged in the following:

 

• You will be the primary data engineering subject matter expert and shape the data engineering roadmap.
• You will design and build the data architecture.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions.
• You will design, build, maintain and upgrade data pipelines and self-service tooling to provide clean, efficient results.
• You will promote data governance through documentation, observability and controls.
• You will perform code reviews.
• You will promote the adoption of tools and best practices across the team.

 

What they are looking for...

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and expertise in real-time data engineering and cloud technologies, and be able to apply this expertise to business problems to generate value.

 

As an individual contributor, you will be confident in taking a project brief and drawing out requirements, designing and building consensus around architectural plans.

 

Tech stack: AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Python, Kafka/Kinesis and Airflow.

 

Essential skills:

• Great Python skills.
• Previous experience with real-time data streaming platforms such as Kafka/Kinesis/Confluent etc.
• Experience handling and validating real-time data.
• Experience with stream processing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring team members and colleagues.
