About the event

Burns Sheehan hosted an in-person intimate roundtable this June, where Engineering leaders from the likes of Google, Deliveroo, Depop, Cervest, Pricemoov & Zopa came together and discussed their challenges, and pathways from growth to profitability.

Date & Time: Tuesday 6th June 9am

Location: Burns Sheehan's London city centre office

Refreshments: a breakfast spread with tea, coffee & juices

This was an intimate event, giving our attendees the opportunity to expand their networks and bounce ideas off of other seasoned engineering leaders in the tech community.

Throughout this year so far, we have had some interesting conversations with our network, yet one particular topic that stood out again and again: the crucial role of Engineering Leaders in transforming the rapid growth mindset of recent times into a mindset centred around revenue and profit and how to effectively mould and implement business objectives through technical strategy.

You spoke and we listened! We explored:

💡 How do you mature from the growth mindset of the start-up/scale-up phase  to become a profitable business - What do you need to get ahead of? How do you prepare for the surprises?

💡 What are the challenges inherent in evolving from being a start-up with a build everything/fast culture to building operational readiness while maintaining agility at scale?

💡 How do you manage the changeable economic climate? Is there a playbook of proactive and reactive measures that can give your business a competitive edge regardless of the macro-economic conditions? How can you plan for these eventualities and equip leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive the business forwards?
