Every year Burns Sheehan brings together employees from its London and Manchester teams for a day of meetings and social events. This year is no different.
It was a busy and crazy day, but incredibly energizing. We use this time together to celebrate our collective accomplishments and, more importantly, have employees from both offices meet face-to-face.
We put a lot of thought into how we structure the annual meeting so that employees get the most out of it. We had different activities throughout the day. We started with “Who Are We?” which allowed us to interact with different people to get to know more about them. We then moved onto discussing the workplace, i.e. culture, environment, progression and team structure etc. After lunch, we talked about a range of topics such as flexibility, incentives, progression etc. We then held a Burns Sheehan X-Games where the competitions were based around the company values. It was a great way to end the day because everyone had great fun and it brought everyone together in their teams.
It’s more important than ever for employees to understand the company’s values, goals and strategy. What we’ve found is that there’s no better way to accomplish this and to set the tone for the coming months than getting all our employees together in one place for an all-company meeting. It gives us all a sense of purpose and optimism for the year ahead.
