As their Website states “rightmove.co.uk is the UK’s number one property website.” They are a huge success story and a household name. They are now ranked as the seventh most popular site in the UK, beaten only by Google, Facebook, eBay, YouTube, Amazon and Yahoo, and have even succeeded in beating BBC!!

 

We are pleased to confirm both Nick and PBJ have agreed to give us an insight into life at rightmove, its people and their culture from the very early days, right up to the present day. We will get a taste of what they did, how they did it, some of the lessons learnt along the way and what helps to keep them as the market leader.

A bit about our speakers and panellists:

 

 

Nick McKittrick has been at rightmove from the very beginning (2000) and was one of the original management team. As CTO, he and his team built the original rightmove website site and by the time rightmove floated on the London Stock Exchange in March 2006 Nick was the MD of the Rightmove.co.uk business.  His current role is FD & COO. Previous to this Nick was CTO of eLoan and before that a senior manager at Accenture.

 

Peter Brooks-Johnson joined Rightmove in 2006 as Product Director with overall responsibility for technology, operations and Customer Service. He was then promoted to the role of MD in 2010. Prior to rightmove PBJ held senior positions within The Berkeley Group and was a manager at Accenture.

 

Trevor Mather joined Thoughtworks in September 2001 with the remit to build a UK ThoughtWorks business. Thoughtworks at the time was a US consultancy employing 250 people across 3 US cities, a turnover of $35m and no presence in the UK. After helping build the UK to 150+ consultants, Trevor took on the role of helping to build up operations in India, Australia and then China.  In 2008 Trevor was asked to become President and CEO of Thoughtworks which today employs 1800 people, spread across 23 cities with a turnover of $250m+.

 

Mike Keyworth is currently COO of Monitise. Monitise are the leading global provider of mobile money solutions and have experienced exceptional growth since its inception in 2003. Mike joined Monitise in early 2004 as the Delivery Director and was invited to take up the post of Chief Information Officer in October 2005 before being appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Mike has over 20 years experience at some of the leading financial institutions in the UK, he has earned himself an impressive reputation as an exceptional IT executive. Mike has helped grow companies from the ground up as well as managing significant global change programmes.

 

Richard Hill is one of the most successful, respected and decorated England Rugby players of all time. He won 71 England caps and went on three British and Irish Lions tours. He was an integral member of the all-conquering England side that dominated the game from 2000, culminating in the World Cup win in 2003. This team was ground breaking in the methods it deployed and is widely regarded as one of the most successful sporting teams England has ever produced. Richard is currently part of the leadership and coaching team at Saracens Rugby club, the current Premiership Champions.
