Senior Software Architect - Java, Open Source - eCommerce

Our client, a well renowned and aggressively growing eCommerce organisation, require a talented and engaging Senior Software Architect, to help build future platforms for the group, and be an influential figure in the growth of an already successful tech-led company.

With future plans including diversifying the existing Open Source technical architecture of the company, continuing interest in cloud computing and ensuring new & innovative best practices in development are utilised, the Senior Software Architect will be a key figure in the Technology function, influencing decisions in collaboration with the whole organisation.

Initially acting as the standalone Technical Architect in a mid-sized Agile Engineering function, you will eventually be tasked with building an Architecture team and developing the role into a 'Head Of' position.

You will be have a strong development background, with Java and OOP expertise and previous experience to other open source tech, such as Ruby/Rails, MySQL, Distributed architectures, Cloud technologies (AWS, Rackspace) and application design.

A strong Agile background is essential, as is strong communication skills, and a self-starting attitude to work.
Previous experience in digital or eCommerce companies would be highly advantageous
